…
You know who is having a good career? Catcher J.T. Realmuto. A former third-round pick of the Miami Marlins, he has become one of the best catchers in baseball. Over his 12 seasons in the big league, he has averaged 21 HR a year and a 110 OPS+. Realmuto has been selected to three All-Star teams, won three Silver Sluggers, and earned two Gold Gloves. He has amassed 38.8 career WAR, putting him in the Top 30 catchers of all time and 25th for active MLB players–right behind Carlos Santana (36.7). Considering how much teams value defence (to the detriment of offensive production), he is a rare modern catcher that brings both a good bat and glove to the game.
