SP Parker Messick came into the 2025 season as Cleveland’s #11 overall prospect. He doesn’t have overpowering stuff, despite being a big dude, but he is aggressive and knows how to pitch. He profiles as more of a middle-of-the-rotation starter, and that is fine. Those are hard to find.

Messick made his major league debut this past season and was fantastic. He went 3-1 with a 1.311 WHIP and 155 ERA+. He gave up a fair share of hits (46 in 39.2 innings), but limited the walks to only 6.

The Guards should have a good rotation in 2026. Gavin Williams will likely be the team’s ace, followed by Tanner Bibee and Slade Cecconi. The #4 and #5 positions are up for grabs, but I would be shocked if we did not open the season with Messick at #4 and Logan Allen at #5.
