Jason Delay
Jason Delay

Jason Delay was drafted twice while playing at Vanderbilt University.

  • 11th round pick in 2016 by the San Fransisco Giants
  • 4th round pick in 2017 by the Pittsburgh Pirates

He has not been a great hitter as a pro, with a career line of .237/.314/.340 with 11 HR. Despite a weak bat he still advanced to AA this season and managed to have his best pro season to date, with career highs in HR (8) and OPS (.684). He also struck out a career-high 62 times (with only 13 walks).

Delay makes up for his weak hitting with a plus glove and great game-calling skills. He is the perfect organizational catcher and I would not be surprised to see him make the majors at some point on these tools alone.
