Autographs From the Field: Josh Reddick, of, Houston Astros

Josh Reddick has always kind of been a favorite of mine. He is not the friendliest guy in the world when it comes to autographs, which takes some of the fun out of things.

  • Reddick has had a very nice career, especially considering he was a 17th round pick (Red Sox, 2006).
  • Between 2007 and 2010 he was one of the Red Sox top prospects, ranking as high as the organizations #3 prospect in 2009.
  • Reddick made the majors in 2009, but he did not find consistent playing time until he was traded to the A’s for the 2012 season. The centerpiece of the trade was Andrew Bailey, who went from Oakland to Boston…so this was a great trade for Oakland.
  • Since becoming a regular Reddick has hit .265/.325/.433 with an OPS+ of 108. He has averaged 15 HR a season. Not bad.
  • He does not have any All-Star selections, though does have a Gold Glove (2012) and World Series ring (2017).
