Collecting Cleveland Baseball Since 1982

Collecting Cleveland Indians Topps team sets from 1952-present, as well as post-war minor and major league autographs.

From the Collection: Brad Zunica, if, San Diego Padres

Brad Zunica

I am not sure if Brad Zunica is going to make it to the majors. But if he does, it won’t be because he lacks pop.

Zunica was drafted in the 15th round of the 2015 draft by the Padres.

  • He is hitting .235/.333/.439 with 12 HR in 2019 in AA. He has 72 K’s to 33 walks.

While he has moved slowly through the Padres system, his power has been a consistent feature at every level. He has hit at least 12 HR from 2016-2018 and is on pace in 2019 to be near his career high of 18.

  • His power tool is enough to get him on the prospect map, as Fangraphs rates him the organizations #43 prospect.

Zunica does walk a little, but because he is stuck at first his bat will have to continue to produce if he wants any chance at making the big league club. There is enough juice in there that it could happen.
