I really liked Texas Rangers-era Mark Teixeira. During his rookie season in 2003, he was on a Rangers team that was filled with players that are some of my all-time favorites, including Einar Diaz, Alex Rodriguez, Hank Blalock, Ryan Christenson, Juan Gonzalez, and Ryan Ludwick. That was a fun team. It also helped that he signed TTM back then too, which is how I got this card, which is from the 2005 Topps Cracker Jack set.
Teixeira would go on to have a great career. Over 14 seasons in the majors he hit 409 HR with a career 126 OPS+. He was selected to three All-Star games, won three Silver Sluggers, and won five Gold Gloves. It’s a shame so much of it came with the Yankees, but he did get a World Series trophy out of it, in 2009.
