I had this card in my collection for years. Then I had an opportunity to get in on a private signing and decided to send this card in. It came out pretty OK.
I am a huge fan of those 1970s Oakland Athletics teams, and Reggie Jackson was the offensive heart of those clubs. He was also one of the first player’s autographs I ever got–in person, no less–when I got into autograph collecting back in 2002. Back then, as today, I still hate getting autographs in person, but there is no denying the thrill of being in a huge crowd trying to get a legendary player’s autograph…and getting it. That day sparked a passion for autograph collecting that lasts until this day.
