Trayce Thompson was a very well thought of prospect for the White Sox.
- From 2009-2015 he consistently rated one of their top prospects, ranking as high as #2 following the 2012 season.
He made the majors in 2015 and held his own over 122 at-bats. But the White Sox traded him that winter to the Dodgers. Since then he has been a bit of a journeyman, playing for the Dodgers, Athletics, Yankees, and Cleveland–mostly in AAA.
This past season he was with AAA Columbus, hitting .219/.294/.482 with 24 HR. He still has pop–there is no doubt about that. He is a classic 4A player, but he certainly makes any minor league team he is on more potent. And that counts.
