Adam Rosales was drafted in the 12th round (362nd overall) by the Cincinnati Reds in 2005 of Western Michigan.

Coming out of college he was projected to a utility player in the majors. He didn’t have any plus tools, but his value lied in him being able to hit his weight while also playing just about every position in the field. He was considered a decent enough prospect in that regard, and from 2005 to 2008 he was rated one of the Reds Top 30 prospects three times, topping out at #15 for the 2006 season.

His best season in the minors was easily 2007: between high-A and AA he hit .287/.382/.514 with 19 HR. That is not bad at all.

He made the majors in 2008 but has never really managed to stick at the big league level. Over 11 seasons he has never gotten more than 300 at-bats and owns a career line of .226/.291/.365 with an OPS+ of 78.

His best campaign was in 2016 with the Padres–in 214 at-bats he hit 13 HR and ended the season with a OPS+ of 118.

At 35 he is clearly on the backend of his career, but for a 12th round pick, you cannot complain about the career he has had. And he also seems like a really nice dude, so I am sure he will stick around in the game long after his playing career ends.
