Another player high on my list to get for the Dirtbags was first baseman Jonathan Long [ @jlong24_ ], so I was happy to knock him out on Friday night. Last season, as a sophomore, he hit .311/.411/.454 with 6 HR. This season he is hitting .336/.404/.608 with 9 HR–so he is already setting career highs with the improved power numbers. He, along with Rocco Peppi, Kyle Ashworth, and Connor Burns make up a very formative offensive foursome and a big reason that Long Beach State is still in the fight for the top spot in the Big West.
