This was a nice surprise autograph that rolled in, a late arrival from the college baseball season.
Kyle Isbel was great this season at UNLV, hitting .365/.643/.441 with 14 HR. He was drafted by the Royals in the 3rd round of the 2018 draft. He was taken about where he was projected to go; he was generally rated in the Top 50-100 draft prospects.
Isbel is an interesting prospect. While he does not have an above average tool, he is more than solid across the board with enough pop to keep pitchers honest. And he has hit the ground running in his pro career. Between rookie and full-season A-ball he has hit .373/.456/.610 with 5 HR and 14 stolen bases. Very impressive.
I think the Royals got a steal.
