The Card: 2020 Panini USA Stars & Stripes Autograph Doug Nikhazy
Doug Nikhazy was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft by Cleveland out of the University of Mississippi. In his last season at Mississippi, he went 12-2, striking out 142 in only 92 innings.
This season Nikhazy is pitching with Clevelands high-A club and is more than holding his own, going 2-3 with a 3.38 ERA/1.479 WHIP. He has struck out 62 and walked 38 in 48 innings. Control is a bit of an issue, and something he will need to straighten out, but he is clearly a great pitching prospect and profiles as a solid #2 starter if his tools come together.
