I was really excited about this card. Back in 2020 Washington State Baseball played here in Hawaii, and Kyle Manzardo was on the team. He was a decent prospect, but I don’t think anyone expected him to be drafted in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft. And, for whatever reason, I did not get him. Probably the best player that I ever totally whiffed on getting. And it’s bugged me ever since. Normally I could knock him out on a consignment, but with COVID hitting right as he went pro, that never really panned out. But, Topps was nice enough to include him in their 2022 Bowman Heritage set.
Manzardo is quite a prospect. Last season, between High-A and AA he hit .327/.426/.617 with 22 HR. He comes in 2023 as one of the Rays Top 5 prospects and could very likely make the majors at some point in the season.
