Allen came into the season as one of the organization’s top 10 prospects. While he had a rough 2022 with Columbus if you were just looking at his ERA (6.49), even a cursory glance at his advanced metrics showed a pitcher who was ready to perform at the major league level.

Sure enough, here we are. Since getting called up in April, Allen has gone 1-2 with a 3.31 ERA/126 ERA+. His numbers are dragged down a little by the only start where he was really hit hard, which was in early May against the Angels (4.1 IP, 8 hits, 3 ER).

There is a world where the Guards have a starting rotation of Tanner Bibee, Logan Allen, Triston McKenzie, Joey Cantillo, and Gavin Williams. Each could potentially be a #1 starter, so that is pretty exciting.
