Micah Pries was drafted out of Point Loma Nazarene University, a D3 school, by Cleveland in the 19th round of the 2019 draft. 2021 was his first professional campaign, and he was just fantastic:
- He opened the season in Low-A and hit .320/.404/.547 with 2 HR.
- In July he was promoted to High-A, and continued to hit well, going .267/.341/.447 with 7 HR.
Pries will almost certainly open the 2022 season with Akron. I am always a fan of D3 players, so it will be fun to see how far his bat will carry him in the Cleveland organization.
