New Arrivals: John Jaha, 1b, Oakland Athletics

John Jaha
John Jaha

I have been waiting for a John Jaha signing for a while, and its just not happening. So I decided to pull the trigger on these two cards.

John Jaha spent 10 seasons in the majors with the Brewers (1992-1998) and Athletics (1999-2001). A late start to his career (he did not debut until he was 26) and injuries ate into his overall numbers, but when healthy Jaha was one of the most dangerous hitters in the league.

In 1996, with Milwaukee, Jaha hit .300/.398/.543 with 34 HR. In 1999, with Oakland, he hit .276/.414/.556 with 35 HR and was selected to his first and only All-Star team. It was also his last effective season in the majors. After missing most of the 2000 season due to injuries, he would retire midway through the 2001 season after only 45 at-bats.
